Fat Transfer

Temples and Brows

Most individuals lose fullness from their temples as they age.  The loss of youthful fullness begins around age 35 and continues to progress over time. Many people develop a “skeletonization” of their face, where fat is noticeably reduced causing depressions of the temples.  Over time, many woman unconsciously start to style their hair over these areas, so the fat loss is less noticeable.  As time goes by, there is progressive loss of fullness in the temples, and further, the skin gradually thins enough that unattractive blue veins become apparent.  Further fat loss in the brow results in droop of the eyebrow as well as droop of the lateral outer eyelid.

Fat Transfer can restore the fullness to the brows, resulting in a pleasant lift of the outer eyebrow to a more youthful level.  In addition, the fuller temple makes the outer eyebrow more visible, giving the eye a much more open, attractive and youthful appearance (see photos below). Fat transfer likely induces new collage formation in the overlying skin, which also improves skin thickness and quality over time to hide the unsightly, tortuous, blue or green veins of the aging temple.

Our providers can fill the hollows of the temples, realign the curvature of the outer eyebrow and improving the quality and thickness of the skin, through the Fat transfer procedure, which is one of the best ways to improve the aging of the face and temples.

Cheeks

Most people consider a fuller cheek to provide a more youthfull appearance.   This can occur with enhancement of the projection of the upper cheek, along with slight hollowing of the mid cheek.  Certainly a hollowed cheek in the upper portion can cause an individual to looker older than they actually may be, or a tired and sad appearance, even in younger person. Fat transfer to the cheeks can give the appearance of lifting the face without a surgical facelift procedure.

Most people who start life with full cheeks, lose that youthful appearance over time.  Fat transfer can restore the fullness of the cheeks for those who have lost it, and also can reconfigure the shape of the face for individuals who never had prominent cheekbones.

Fat Transfer can also be used to reverse the damage caused by chronic acne scarring, reconstruct the cheek, minimize the appearance of bulging eyes, and disguise or soften the appearance of silicone cheek implants.

Lips, Marionette Lines and Nasolabial Folds

Fine lines, wrinkles and folds on the face can cause individuals to appear older than they actually are.  Achieving a more youthful appearance is not always as easy as we hope. Home remedies often do not live up to their hype.  Many people often complain about the aged appearance of the lower face, i.e.  the areas around the nose, lips and chin areas. Fat transfer can improve the appearance in these areas, even without an invasive surgical procedure such as a neck lift or a face lift.
