What Does the Fraxel™ Laser Treats:

Fraxel™ lasers are versatile to treat a range of skin issues. From sun damage to wrinkles, this treatment gives your skin a more youthful appearance. Specifically, Fraxel™ stimulates collagen production to minimize the following concerns:

  • Wrinkles and lax skin: Fraxel™ smooths out rough skin and minimizes wrinkles through collagen production.
  • Acne scars: This treatment improves the appearance of acne scars, making them less noticeable.
  • Sun damage and age spots: Sun damage and aging can be combated with Fraxel™, specifically reducing hyperpigmentation.
  • Large pores: Boosting collagen production will also tighten the skin to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.

Benefits Of Fraxel Laser Treatment

  • Whether you want to improve your skin’s overall appearance or cover specific skin concerns, Fraxel™ treatments might be right for you. Many patients choose Fraxel™ because these treatments are:

    • Versatile: Fraxel™ is a versatile treatment for all areas of the face, neck, hands and body. This technique can also be done on most skin types.
    • Noninvasive: This innovative approach is noninvasive and is performed above the skin. It replaces and rebuilds damaged skin in the treatment zones within 24 hours.
    • Minimal downtime: With a noninvasive technique, you will experience little to no downtime with minimal risk of infection. While you may feel slight redness or irritation immediately after, you will be free to return to your day.
    • Long-lasting: You should see a steady improvement in skin texture, reduced wrinkles, faded age spots, smaller pore size and more. The results of Fraxel™ treatments can be long-lasting, especially when you follow up with proper skincare and sun protection.

Update: Appreciate the quick response and action on this review. Their text reminders were picked up by my spam filter, so be sure to add their # to your contacts! Updating to 4 stars because otherwise I had a good experience with this office and Dr. Pyles.

I went here for a 1-off skin concern a year ago. The front desk scheduled a follow-up appointment without my knowledge for a year later. I missed their reminder call the day before the appointment (they called at 8 am and it went to voicemail). By the time I listened to their voicemails 2 days later I found out I would be charged $150 for missing the appointment.

Fraxel™ Laser to Acne Scars

How Does Fraxel Work?

The skin is treated fractionally with patterns of microscopic laser spots, each of which is 70-100 microns in diameter, resulting in a unique wound healing process. Each laser spot or “MicroThermal Zone,” is surrounded by untreated tissue. Fractional wound healing results in both rapid replacement of the sun-damaged, surface layer of the skin, as well as collagen remodeling in the deeper dermis, to depths of 400-700 microns.

An analogy to Fraxel™ Laser Treatments is pixels in a newspaper photograph. If one looks at a newsprint photo closely, one will see that the image is actually comprised of thousands of tiny spots of ink. Similarly, this laser treatment produces thousands of tiny MicroThermal Zones. These zones not only penetrate deep into the dermis rejuvenating collagen and reducing wrinkles, but also resurface the uppermost portion of the skin, resulting in the formation of new epidermal cells with reduction or complete elimination of uneven pigment. Further, the intervening areas of untouched skin between these MicroThermal Zones allow the skin to heal much faster compared to conventional laser skin resurfacing.
