How Does it Work?

Radiesse comes in a small syringe, similar to collagen. It injected below the surface of the skin in the fatty layer, adding fullness lips, depressed scars, wrinkles and marionette lines or folds. Calcium hydroxylapatite creates a lattice scaffolding which supports the in-growth of soft tissue, resulting in tissue augmentation and enhancement.

Safety & Side Effects

In general, calcium hydroxylapatite has safely been used in the body for many applications including dental applications (where bone build-up is needed for reconstruction), as well as for cosmetic implant procedures for the chin, cheeks, and jaw areas. Radiesse is manufactured to be similar to the body’s own tissue, and thus there is no need for allergy testing. The specific risks and the suitability of these procedures for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally.

Recovery Time

It is normal for some patients to experience some pinkness or swelling at the injection site, lasting 2 to 3 hours.

Does it Hurt?

Some individuals will require an anesthetic injection to prevent pain.
