Wedding Day Ready: Your Guide to the Cosmetic Procedure Timeline

Your wedding will be one of the most memorable days of your life, and when you and your family look back on every picture, you want to look your best. Many people want to try cosmetic procedures before the wedding so they can highlight their favorite features when all eyes are on them. At Berman Skin Institute, we have the ideal timeline to make it happen. Our experienced providers are excited to help you shine brighter than you already do on the best day of your life.

When to Book Cosmetic Procedures Before Your Wedding

When it comes to wedding planning, timing is key, whether you’re booking catering or altering your dress. While it is tempting to plan for body enhancements and modifications as close to your big day as possible, we recommend a structured plan that starts at least a year in advance or as far back as you can manage. Many procedures require healing or time to “settle” to achieve the ideal effect, so even if you just want to make a few minor improvements, scheduling a consultation early is critical to ensuring you get the results you desire.

12 Months to Go: Consultation Time

At Berman Skin Institute, every treatment starts with a detailed consultation. During this appointment, we want to get to know you — your medical history, skin and body concerns, and anything else that will help us recommend the best services.

We’ll gather some basic information about your wedding and any treatments you want to get beforehand. If you’re unsure of your options, this is the perfect time to ask about them. We can guide you through our full treatment catalog and create a personalized plan for all your needs.

Nine to 12 Months Before: Major Procedures

If you are considering a major change, like breast augmentation or hair transplants, it should take place at least nine to 12 months before the wedding. After these procedures, your body needs time to recover and adjust.

Some major procedures include:

Completing these treatments early ensures we can see the final effects develop and make adjustments later on if necessary. It can also give you an early boost to your confidence as you start dress shopping, meeting with vendors and planning pre-wedding events.

Six to Nine Months Before: Body Contouring

Other procedures that should happen well in advance are full-body treatments like liposuction and body contouring. The purpose of these services is to enhance your body’s shape. You will want time to heal and get comfortable in your new appearance afterwards.

Furthermore, maintaining a stable body build in the months leading up to your wedding is critical for those final dress and tux alterations. We tend to schedule CoolSculpting and liposuction appointments six to nine months before your wedding date.

Three to Six Months Before: Skin Rejuvenation

As you pass the half-year mark before your wedding, we can turn toward fine-tuning regimens that address skin tone and skin-related medical conditions like acne and rosacea. Services in this category generally take a few days to a couple of weeks to heal and slightly longer to yield visible results. These treatments include:

A number of these procedures provide the best results with at least a few sessions, so we start your first appointments anywhere from three to six months before the big day. This gives the results time to develop naturally and heighten that wedding-day glow you’re looking for.

One to Three Months Before: Facials and Fillers

Even if you do not typically pursue facial enhancements, you may want to consider BOTOX® or lip filler before your wedding to accentuate your best features, especially since they will come from one of the world’s leading BOTOX® providers. Fillers look their best in the months following their application, so we make appointments for them in the last 90 days before your wedding.

Finally, in the last month and weeks leading up to that walk down the aisle, we’ll bring you in for the finishing touches. We like to think of this as a little bit of stress relief between all the appointments and last-minute adjustments — we’ll make you feel like you’re at the spa with a hydrating facial, microdermabrasion and other minimally invasive treatments to give you a smoother complexion.
